Brigitte Bardot came to St-Tropez in the 1950s and transformed the peaceful fishing village into a favorite destination for the global jet-set crowd and its admirers. Tropeziens continue to promote this enduring image: in the port, chic and stylish mega yachts jostle for the most ideal mooring and many more tourists clammer to admire them.
During the high season, the roads into and out of this small village are notoriously congested and the restaurants and hotels are filled to capacity. The famous beaches near St. Tropez are lined with private beach clubs and the waters of the Mediterranean are simply the most beautiful in the region.
